Wise IOT

                                                                                                                                          Introduction

The very concept of IOT starts from the point where we think that every ‘things’ are or would be connected in the future. This concept does have a wide scope and an options of many vulnerabilities. Initially these things where “Internet of Computers” where the assumption was that all computers are connected to each other, then came “Internet of mobiles” ... many mores and recently there is “Internet of cows” which is used to track the cows in large farms etc.

So if we see, all technologies focus on the connection of devices and the power to control them remotely, what if they are WISE enough to understand there work and switch according to the requirements in the form of protocols.

This will open a new option through which majority of problems can be solved such as a common device for all scenario which just need an updating module to add a new requirement. So we come up with the new Approach and a concept as Wise IOT.

                                                                                                                                             Understanding

A.   Basic

Todays world is expanding drastically in the form of technologies, as Technology increases so do the Connected devices. They are directly proportional to each other and in near future we can assume to have everything right from the going to office to eating will be having an option of automation and then there is need to have a common or rather Generic algorithm or technique which can take decision wisely and adapt it self to the requirements.

Say for example, if we are moving in the car the sensors and the communications are doing a specific task and if they are in there “Zones” (that means other cars having same technology and are in their vicinity) they can communicate and send and receive the data to achieve certain task either in the form of distance calculation or hurdle identification in the near vicinity and this information is continuously transferred to Internet for Processing to achieve the desired results.

But what if they are not in there “Zones” then their functionality is at STALE, due to the assumption that they are fixed to work on a certain environment. Now what if they are wise enough to understand their Environment or Surrounding and Accordingly Select Their Functionality or they Make up that Environment as the “Virtual Zones” so that they can work according to the Zones need. This will solve the problem of STALENESS and further they can be used to work on different features say for example sharing of WIFI, and acting as hotspot or use of Proxy when others devices in ZONES don’t have INTERNET.

This would solve the problem of NO signal Zones such as tunnels or malfunctioning of Internet device. Plus, whole new generic specs which if used, will open the options of addition and easy use of Features and direct communications with the devices and Hence every device will be Truly Connected.

B.   How to Achive

To Achieve this concept, we need to make the devices smart enough to continuously understand and predict the environment using either some sort of Machine Learning Technique or negotiation ability to use the alternative technologies.

Say for example a medical van, due to some reason cannot get the internet connection or that connection is weak or rather GPS signal is not available, then if we have the concept of Wise-Iot enabled devices, neighboring devices will understand this scenario and can provide the information as well as the internet connection to use their service.

Conclusion

I have tried to come up with a problem in IOT which can be solved using above techniques in the form of making the Device smart enough to make decisions and becoming WISE. There are many challenges to achieve this. I gave focus on IOT problem then on security, may be I can further take this scenario and discuss about how to implement security protocols around it or rather which protocol would be efficient considering a specific scenario.
